I keep reading about these killer asteroids?? help?

I read a yahoo article today about these asteroids and I know about the apophis in 2036 but what's the odds of something like this happening? also the big speculation on 2012?? some say an asteroid willl hit but how come its not tracked or recorded? and some say something about space and astronomy? an alignment of some sort? what's really going to happen?
