Why is my menstrual coming every other week?

My menstrual have been coming every other week since last month, could you tell me what is going on with my body. Am I approaching menopause, I will be 36 in June, but I have 6 children, i stillborn, 1 miscarriage, and 2 abortions, so altogether I have been preg. 10 times. From age 18 to 33. Please help, I am really tired of bleeding. My mother said she was going through the same thing before she started menopause, but my doctor said a woman menstrual stops completely when approaching menopause. But at end she ended up with a hestrectomy(sorry for the spelling).
