Are all the people who are knocking David Davis actually aware of how many of our civil liberties have gone?

He may have acted il-advisedly, and alterier motives or not, the public need to wake up to what his whole protest is about. Apart from all the other liberties we have lost, very few of the people who have been arrested in the UK in the past on suspected terrorism actually turned out to be terrorists. Now they want to lock up possibly innocent people for 42 days without charge until they wear them down into false confessions.. Didn't we "liberate" the Iraqi people from such similar evils?
